We spent the most relaxing week at The Sands at Grace Bay at Turks and Caicos Islands. The accommodations were outstanding - fully equipped kitchen, large screened in terrace where one could relax eat and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean. As well, there are two fabulous pools at the resort and a inground outdoor jacuzzi available to guests virtually 24 hours a day. The suites are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff is very knowledgeable and go out of their way to accommodate the guests. There are several wonderful eating establishments on the island, including Hemingways which is located at the Sands. The beach could not be better! Great place for diving and snorkeling or for just chillin', which is exactly what we did!!!

We loved our stay at The Sands. We had a wonderful room, even in the cheaper ocean view studio category. We had a great, direct view of the water, through the lovely landscaped grounds and interconnecting pools. The studio was large enough and had everything you need -- kitchenette, large closet and washer/dryer. The balcony was large and the screening did not affect the view. The grounds are immaculate and lush (this says alot given the dryness of the island) with three beautiful pools interconnected by rivers. The beach was heaven -- long, secluded with the prettiest water we've seen anywhere (been to 5 other islands). The resort was very peaceful and uncrowded (at least in May 2002). We saw only a scattering of kids here and there, which were very well behaved, quite literally "building sandcastles" next to their parents. The restaurant (Hemmingway's) had good reasonably priced food with great views (check out the sunset). There were many others within walking distance. The hotel also offers reduced taxi service. The tour desk was very good. The maid service was great and all the staff were wonderful. I cannot say enough positive comments about this place, which was pure paradise.
