Auberge Gourmande, in the center of restaurant row in Grand Case, serves fine French cuisine in an intimate dining room in one of the oldest Créole houses on the island. Lovingly remodelled in subtle browns and yellows, the wood and stone of the old house harken back to a time of slower pleasures. Enjoy an evening on our terrace amid the plantings or step inside to find your favorite alcove. The friendly and efficient staff completes the ambience required to provide you with a superb and sublime evening.
Auberge Gourmande feature fine French cuisine and a well-stocked wine cellar offering a wide range and depth of vintages at reasonable prices.
Soups, salads, and appetizers ready your palette. Choose from onion soup, island rock fish and saffron soup, or cream of asparagus soup with a grilled scallop. Salads include sautéed shrimp and pineapple, house-smoked salmon, and our own version of the classic Caesar salad. Warm appetizers include greens with chicken liver, flambéed with Cognac and laced with cream or a bit of crispy goat cheese and Roquefort on a bed of endive. Also available are Burgundian snails, frog legs, foie gras, and more.
Dinner features six of the freshest fish on the island including French sea bass, tuna, Dover sole, and more in interesting preparations. The six meat courses include rack of lamb, beef filet mignon, pork tenderloin, duck, and more.

The service was deplorable. The shrimp and duck breast were overcooked. The salad dish tasted like it had been prepared ahead of time and had been forgotten on the side.
