It is really a great place. Unfortunately when I went, the weather was rainy for a solid 3 days, so I didn't get to enjoy this beautiful location as much as I would have liked.

You will love this hotel if you have children as there are plenty for them to do. You will hate it if you are looking for a quiet holiday. Maybe because we were there at the height of the season (Xmas 2002), the place felt over crowded, with noisy children everywhere. We did not have one moment of peace. This hotel opened in 1994. I'm sure then, with everything sparkling new, it would have been breathtaking. For us, the place felt tired. The furnishings looked tired. The staff seemed tired, anytime we asked for anything, they give you a look like - Do you really need that?? Every request was too much work for them. I must be honest, not all the staff were like that. However, the members of staff who seemed to know the meaning of service were few and far between. When we arrived, our shower wasn't working. Though that did get fixed quite quickly. The Cave Bar that is so famous was dark and dingy, and smelt of stale alcohol. The place lacked a proper lounge and bar where you can go and have a quiet drink. The main restaurant has the air of a cafe with tablecloths. The service was the same to match. This is the same restaurant used for breakfast and lunch. It is definitely not fine dining as it is advertised on the websites. We might consider returning out of season, when all the kids and at school. Or we'll definitely make sure we have at least 3 squabbling kids with us, to really get our money's worth.Crystal Cove owners/managers. If you are reading this - the place is in desperate need of a refurb and the staff needs more training. But I've said all this to you in my comment card.

This hotel was more than horriable. If you want a relaxing vacations, def. don't stay here. We arrived on a Thursday morning, First of all we didn't get the correct room that we paid for. Our shower didn't work, and the roof leaked onto the bed. Service was horriable, you couldn't even ask for a cup of coffee without feeling that you are bothering someone-the food was horriable and the service was worse. I have no idea how this hotel stays in business. It was so bad that we stayed for 24 hours and flew home. Note it's a 5 1/2 hour plane ride. I'd rather stay home then go here, i just wish someone wrote a review like this before i had the experience.

The hotel is lovely. Rooms are nice with much needed air conditioning. The main swimming pool with the sun lounges is quite small so take your towels down and lay them on the beds you want before you sit down for breakfast (the hotel does provide beach towels which you can change when you want). The food is gorgeous with different menus every night. Do try out the Drifters bar for lunch aswell as the bar b q food is really tasty aswell. Even though the beach isn't private there was only Crystal Cove guests ever using it. The Watersports are really good. Didnt go on any excursions as am 4 months pregnant but did hear that the swimming with the turtles was really good. Would recommend the hotel to anyone and didn't want to come home. Try and go the the Carambola and the Cliff restaurants which you are best of booking before you leave for Barbados.
