BY AIR
Flights arrive at Hato International Airport (airport code CUR; tel 839-3100) located just outside of Willemstad. Flying time from Miami is approximately 2.5 hours; from Montego Bay, 1.5 hours; and from Amsterdam, nine hours.

BY CRUISE
Cruise ships dock at the Port of Willemstad located on the Otrobanda side of St Anna Bay.
Cruise lines that call on Curaçao include Air Tours/Sun Cruise, Deutsche Sectouristik, Carnival Cruises, Holland America, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International and Royal Cruise Line.
The Curaçao Port Authority maintains a cruise schedule on their website (www.curports.com).
GETTING AROUND
BY CAR
There are plenty of car rental agencies on the island. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be rented. Roads are generally in good condition, but can be slippery in the rain and are often poorly lit or not lit at all. Streets signs are often missing or hidden. Watch for donkeys, goats and pedestrians along the side of the road.
To rent a car you will need an international drivers license or a valid drivers license from your home country.
Driving is on the right. It is illegal to turn left on a red light. Through-going traffic has the right of way at T-crossings. In town and around residential areas the speed limit is 45km/hr (28 mph) and outside the city it is 60-80km/hr (37-50 mph). Seat belts are mandatory as are helmets for riders on mopeds, scooters and motorcycles. Children under four years should have child safety seats and those under 12 years should ride in the back seat. Traffic rules also apply to bicycles, mopeds and scooters.
Some traffic circles/roundabouts are used for traffic control instead of lights. If youve never used a roundabout, remember: vehicles already in the roundabout have right of way; yield to traffic on your right, signal, then slowly move in.
If youre involved in an accident call Curaçao Road Services (tel 747-1333 or 199), which is available 24 hrs/day, and if you have car troubles call Roadside Assistance 24-7 Curaçao (tel 9-24-7).
