Hi,we just returned from Curacao. We stayed at the Design Hotel Floris Suites. Overall we were quite dissapointed by the hotel. The hotel´s architecture and the garden setting is quite nice. The food at the restaurant Sjalotte was pretty good as well. Our standard room was small and dark. Much smaller than expected from the internet pictures. On arrival the room was filthy dirty and it took several requests and hours for the staff to do a proper clean up. The service overall was slow and not really great. The pool was not always clean as expected and our room needed a complete work up. The bar area was quite nice. The quality of the breakfast service was below average. Overall the hotel had it´s nice sides, but we were still disappointed. The Marriot and the Kuhla Hurlanda Hotel seem to be better choices.

I have stayed at Floris Suite hotel for 3 nights in January. This hotel is located at Piscadera bay just across the street from Marriott and Sheraton Hotel. I guess it was a slow season since most of the rooms were vacant. So t made me feel like as if we were staying our own private villa! The hotel was very simple yet stylish and clean. It has a small restaurant and a bar inside, but it is much better at Hook's Hut Bar/restaurant on the beach just across the street which was nicer and crowded. The rooms were nice with kitchen and fridge. It also has a large porch/balcony outside which we used for breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was mosquito. We caught at least 20 of them in the room on the first day! I bought a coil to kill them, but the smoke stayed inside the room due to lack of screens on the windows or doors to leave it open.Curacao has so many beautiful beaches. It is certainly worth to rent a car and explore the island. I really enjoyed this trip.Marine

I just came back from Curacao for 4days trip. I have stayed at Floris Suite (Jr. Suite room) and it was very clean hotel. The room was very simple yet stylish since it is a boutique hotel. It was big enough, and a kitchen with stove, microwave, and fridge was a big plus. However, there aren't enough drowers to put clothes nor shelves to put shampoos and razors in the bathroom. They do provide a body and hand soaps only. You need to bring your own sponges and shampoos. Be aware that there are a lot of mosquitos! We caught at least 20 of them for the first day, and we run into the store to get the coils to kill them. There is a huge balcony/porch door, however there is no screen. So, if you leave it open, you are inviting mosquitos. Even though we wanted to get rid of the smell of the coil, there was no way to leave the door open for fresh air. They have a breakfast buffet available for $10 which is not worth it at all. Just a selection of cerial, breads, and eggs... After the first breakfast, we went to a local supermarket to get fruits, breads and juices to enjoy the breakfasts at our own porch. The beach/restaurant they have (Hooks Hut) was very nice. We had a dinner on the beach with full of stars and it was the nicest restaurant on the island we have tried. (Not over priced.) It must have been an off-season in Curacao since most of the rooms were vacant. It felt like we almost owned the whole place to ourselves. I have visited Sheraton and Marriott which both are just across the street from Floris and they were quiet also.Overall, I really had a great vacation to relax and soak up the sun. It felt like a vacation villa rather than a hotel. You will find Floris Suite to be a home away home.
