An interpretive centre for lightening the impact on our environment. "We do not Inherit the Earth from our Fathers...We Borrow it from our Children."In 1994, Barbados hosted the first United Nations Global Conference on Sustainable Development for Small Island Developing States. Thousands of people - including heads of state from all over the world visited a parallel activity to the conference called the Village of Hope. It is from that Village of Hope that this Future Centre has been developed.The Future Centre is about "Choices"; you decide how you want to walk on our precious earth.Visit the solar driven pond and oven, flora and fauna, organic vegetable garden and farming and Fronds restaurant servicing vegetarian lunches, snacks and dinner.Lunch by reservation only. Dinner for groups of 15 persons minimum.Directions: Drive along the ABC Hwy to Everton Weekes roundabout at Warrens. There, exit on the Jackson Road. Follow Jackson Road to the Sharon Moravian Church and take the first left after passing the church. Follow the road until you come to The Future Centre sign (about 500 metres down).Admission: $US$5.00 Adults, US$2.00 Children.Special Tours available Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11AM to 4PM.
