Galley Bay

Address: St. John’s  |
Galley Bay Resort is the perfect all-inclusive retreat for the discerning traveler. It’s secluded setting on the tranquil west coast of Antigua, enjoys 40 acres of tropical gardens between a bird sanctuary lagoon and a three-quarter mile beach.

Great care has been taken to ensure the resort complements these natural surroundings. Thatch, bamboo and terracotta establish an ambience of refined rusticity in the public areas, while a picturesque wooden deck ensures maximum exposure to the ocean views. There is little disruption from the outside world as access to the resort is via a wooden bridge.

All guests are welcomed at the historical sugar mill reception and whisked by golf cart to one of the 69 suites and cottages. More than three-quarters of the accommodations lie directly on the white sand beach; the remainder tucked away in the gardens and boasting their own private splash pools.

We visited Galley Bay 10 - 24 October 2003 & went with two friends. All of us think that it is one of the best hotels we have been to over the last few years. The rooms were large & spotless & the view was to die for from the balcony. Food great with plenty of choice & all the staff were very helpful & friendly , with nothing being too much for them. The pool was lovely , always plenty of sunbeds & always warm !!The only small complaint was that the sea was a bit rough at times, but that won't stop us returning in 2005!1 All in all a place to highly recommend.

Truly Awful Food bland and little choice.Restaurant no atmosphere. Trying to get more than one glass of wine at dinner was impossible.Pool small and dirty.Beach awful as the sea was too rough. Not enough seats for guests to have a drink and watch the sun go down. Not enough sunbeds or shades on the beach for the amount of guests.Felt like a prison with barbed wire and electric gates to get in.I have stayed all over the Caribbean at all different levels and this has to be the worst place I have ever stayed. No value for money at all.

My wife and I spent out honeymoon at Galley Bay and stumbled upon a place that could not have been more perfect. To start off, the beach alone is amazing - just a mile long strip of quiet, clean, non-tacky beach, and when we went there was only about 50 guests to share it with! No kids! The accomodations were simple, yet elegant and probably best of all was the food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was all truly amazing and the menu was new each day - can't say enough about how good the food was. Then there's the staff, a really friendly and fun group of people. I could rant on and on, but basically if you're looking for a relaxing vacation without all the cheesiness of other resorts and want 4 star food - go to galley bay

Beautiful resort on a perfect beach. Our beachfront deluxe rooms was just 10 feet from beach and had all we needed: safe, coffee-maker, free soft drinks in minibar, fan in room and bath, bathrobes and a fantastic terrace with roman-chairs. Wow, we love galley bay.

Galley Bay was every thing we wanted in a resort. Beautiful grounds, great dining, friendly staff and private beach front or lagoon front villas. We were literally 50 ft. from the ocean. The location was beautiful, plenty of activities or keep to yourself. "No kids" was great. A very romantic and friendly place. My wife and I felt renewed. Just perfect! Rick

no carribean resort can match at all galley bay for location, rooms, food and such class of guests. thanks god, there are no children under 16. You spend a lot of money, but you will have your vacation of a lifetime. Stay at beachfront deluxe rooms on 1. or 2. floor and enjoy beach just 10 feets in front.
